– France is off to a good start on its quest to be a world leader in 5G technology. A year-long process has come to a close with the final sale of 5G spectrum for $3.2 billion, Reuters reports. Mobile carriers Orange, Altice Europe, Bouygues Telecom, SFR, and Iliad were competing for the spectrum, which will be used for 5G services. The final price for one of the 11 blocks of spectrum was 126 million euros. The French government had set a floor price of 310 million euros.
